Bangkok Long Weekend — 3-Day Itinerary

Updated 2026 · Totally Bangkok

How to make the most of three days in Bangkok — structured so you see the essential without rushing.

Day 1: Old City

Morning: Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew (arrive 8:30 AM); Wat Pho after; river ferry to Wat Arun; lunch at a riverside restaurant. Afternoon: walk back through Banglamphu; Phra Arthit Road for coffee. Evening: Dinner on Yaowarat (Chinatown).

Day 2: Sukhumvit & Up

Morning: Chatuchak Weekend Market (Saturday or Sunday only) or shopping along Sukhumvit; lunch at Or Tor Kor Market. Afternoon: Lumphini Park; Jim Thompson House. Evening: Rooftop bar at sunset; dinner in Thonglor.

Day 3: Neighbourhood Explore

Morning: Pick one neighbourhood not yet visited — Ari for cafes and calm, Dusit for royal grandeur, or Bang Krachao by bicycle. Afternoon: Thai massage (90 minutes, 400–600 THB). Evening: Night market (Asiatique or Talad Neon) for final dinner and shopping.

Tips

Book cooking class or food tour on Day 2 morning if markets don't interest you; avoid Grand Palace on Mondays (National Museum closed); build in afternoon rest — Bangkok heat is real.
